Once upon a time...

...there was a boy in a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden, who was gifted a game for Christmas by his parents. That boy was me, and the game was Drakar och Demoner (“Dragons and Demons”); a BRP-based Swedish fantasy role-playing game first published in 1982, today known as Dragonbane, in its latest edition. This opened up a whole new world to me, and I have been an avid role-player ever since that mid-1980s day.
Fast forward to the early 1990s, and I was attending gymnasium (comparable to preparatory high school, for a US context). A friend of a friend introduced me to Call of Cthulhu, and I was hooked!
However, opposed to before, I was now almost 100% a player, no longer a game master.
Another fast forward to 2019, when I volunteered as a proofreader for the Swedish edition – and very much localized version – of Call of Cthulhu. I even managed to get some minor adjustments and additions included.
This got my appetite wetted. And as this was during the Covid-19 restrictions, and my regular player group was referred to online gaming, I found myself at my computer, transcribing notes from our latest session. A thought occurred to me: I could try my own hand at writing Call of Cthulhu scenarios.
Right from the start, my plan was to have these published. I was vaguely aware of DriveThruRPR – an online platform for both professional and community content. So I just began to write, and have been writing ever since. First by myself, but later seeking out others and began co-creating. But that, as they say, is a story for another day.
